Affordable Energy Australia is not a think tank or a passive research group. We are a strategic campaign engine purpose-built to bridge the execution gap and give a voice to the 80% of Australians who are concerned about increased energy prices arising from Australia's current plans for the energy transition.
Why we exist
Energy is an essential service, not a luxury.
Australia's energy system is broken. For too long, a small alliance of activist groups, ideologues, lobbyists and well-meaning policymakers has dominated the conversation. The result has been billions of dollars spent embedding expensive and unreliable energy in our system - driving up prices while threatening grid stability.
Families, small businesses, and critical industries have been brought to their knees by a transition that ignores the simple test of affordable power.
We exist to change that - by building a public mandate so large that no government can ignore it, and so durable it outlasts the news cycle.
How we campaign

Pressure
Take the supporter base and convert it into direct, sustained constituent pressure on every elected representative. Letters, calls, town halls, community meetings.

Zoe Hilton
Media and Operations Director, Coalition for Conservation
Zoe is a policy analyst and media commentator with a background in energy policy, government and environmental research. She is passionate about advocating for policy change so that every Australian can access affordable, reliable energy. Zoe has co-authored energy policy papers and featured in videos explaining the flaws in official energy models and why Australia's electricity prices are rising. She previously worked as a science and investment policy advisor in the NSW Government and is currently a Director and Company Secretary of FORM Australia.
Alex O'Brien
President, Responsible Future Illawarra
Alex has over 15 years of experience in senior roles within the wealth advisory sector, where he has led multidisciplinary teams and advised corporate executives, politicians, businesses, high-net-worth individuals, and family groups. He is the President of Responsible Future Illawarra, a genuine grassroots organisation that opposed the controversial Illawarra Offshore Wind Farm and works closely with other affected communities. Through this role, Alex has helped lead a strong campaign, expose behind-the-scenes dealings, highlight conflicts of interest, and shed light on the true drivers behind large-scale renewable energy projects.
